The thought of giving a speech can seem daunting, but I assure you it won't be if you are prepared. People do not expect you to be perfect, but they want a speech to be honest, easy to comprehend, and delivered clearly and concisely. Here are some tips to help you achieve this:
1. Be simple. It is best to use a simple outline. You'll want an introduction, main points with supporting details and a conclusion. Avoid complex language and try to keep it as simple as possible.
2. Add details. By having a simple structure, you can bring in details to make your speech interesting. Use variety when compiling information (e.g. personal anecdotes, newspaper, media quotes, statistical studies, examples, fun definitions). If you want to add style, try repetition, word play or rhetorical questions.
3. Know your audience. Why are these people coming to hear you speak? What do they want or need from this speech? Put yourself in their shoes. Are they learning about this subject for the first time or peers who already understand the basics of the subject? Think about these things and then write your speech accordingly.
4. Beating nervousness. First of all, it is imperative that you know your audience. This will wipe out any fear of not knowing what to say. If you are over-prepared you will automatically be less nervous. Also, know what your opening line is to help take away the anxiety of getting started. Lastly, practice, practice, practice! If you have already given your speech several times, it won't feel like the first time.
5. Body language. Be sure to stand tall, smile, and avoid lots of body movements. Too much motion can distract the audience. Keep your hands and arms in an open position because you will look more confident. Finally, talk slowly and remember to breathe!

Attributes Of Successful People
Success of some kind is something that most of us aspire to accomplish. Many people have a hard time of it and don't understand why. In this article you will find out the attributes most often found in successful people so you can do these things too and enjoy the benefits for yourself. One thing you do need to understand is that most people that have success, have earned it. Yes, earned it. They deserve their success because they have worked hard for it. If success was easy everyone would have it. Are you willing to do what it takes? Read this article and then decide if truly being successful is right for you.
In life successful people are driven to accomplish their goals. Whether you're looking to heal a relationship, get a new job/ start a new business, lose weight, find inner peace...consider these characteristics, which are common to people who succeed.
1) Vision: Successful people get what they want because they know what they want. They have a vision that keeps them motivated and efficiently on track. They see it, feel it, and experience it in their minds and hearts. What do you want to achieve? How would that affect your life? How would it feel to have succeeded in accomplishing your goal? You need to know what it feels and looks like to get there. You MUST know what you're going for.
2) Strategy: People who consistently win have a clear and thoughtful strategy. You must make a thorough plan of what you need to do and when you need to do it. You need to write it down and stay on course. Avoid any alternative that does not get you closer to the finish line.
3) Passion: Are you excited to get up in the morning? People with a passion are, and they're energized about what they are doing. You need to live and breathe what it is that you want, and be passionately invested in both the journey and the goal.
4) Truth: People who consistently win have no room in their lives for denial, fantasy or fiction. They are self-critical rather than self-deluding, and they hold themselves to high but realistic standards. They deal with the truth, since they recognize that nothing else will make their vision obtainable.
5) Flexibility: Life is not a success-only journey. Even the best-laid plans sometimes must be altered and changed. Be open to input but think it through and consider potentially viable alternatives. Be willing to be wrong and be willing to make corrections. Sometimes you need to take some steps backwards or even start over to make corrections that get you better to success.
6) Risk: People who consistently win are willing to get out of their comfort zone and try new things. Be willing to plunge into the unknown if necessary, and leave behind the safe, unchallenging, and familiar existence in order to have more.
7) People around you: Surround yourself with a group of people who want you to succeed. They will move with you toward your goal. Choose and bond with people who have skills, talents and abilities that you do not. Winners give and receive by being part of other people's groups.
8) Action: Do it! People who succeed don't just sit and think about what they want to do. They take meaningful, purposeful, directional action consistently and persistently. Every step they take puts them toward the outcome they're looking for. Action, action, action! As much action as you can. Do, do, do. This can even mean skipping some TV time!
9) Priorities: People who consistently succeed manage their challenges by priorities. Commit to managing your time in such a way that does not allow you to spend time grinding along on priority numbers two or three if priority number one needs your attention and action.
10) Self-management: People who consistently succeed consciously take very good care of themselves. They are the most important resource they have in achieving their goals. They actively manage their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. It is very important to take good care of yourself.
11) A controlled environment: It is vital that all the things and spaces around you are kept up, clean and organized! It is both mentally and spiritually soothing to be in an environment that is under control but most importantly order and disorder have a very strong psychological, mostly subconscious effect on us. Everyone has a certain amount of mental capacity. That is how much of your mind can handle at one time. Why is this important to understand? Because every piece of your environment that is not kept up, dirty, disorganized, not the way you want it is basically not under control. Every bit of it, no matter how small or how big, takes up some of your attention (part of your mental capacity) either consciously or subconsciously or both. That means that you have less of your mental capacity to focused your attention on anything like making conclusions and decisions, be creative, have the energy you need to face the day and your goals. Some people are so out of control that they can barely have the energy to get out of bed in the morning not to mention actually taking on their day and goals with PASSION!
Many people have an environment that is to some degree out of control and getting in under control can be a daunting task. For some it may even seem practically imposable. Please do not worry, it is doable even for the moderately disorganized pack rat. There is some very good news here. You see, getting control has an accumulative effect on your life. That is that the more control you accomplish the better things go in your life. Here is a big secret about getting control; Getting control over the little, simple, easy-to-do things makes it easier to get control over the bigger stuff. So start with the small, quick, easy-to-do stuff and the momentum will keep up its pace. You can even get help from a friend or family member but only as long as they will just help and be supportive and NOT CRITICIZE OR PUT YOU DOWN! This can be difficult enough without having more negativity put in your head. It may help to show them this article so they understand what you are working on accomplishing and why. Do as much as you can every day while continuing to do your regular chores and you will see it get better and better and you may be very surprised what big difference it makes.

Jack Canfield Reveals His #1 Secret (Free Video)
I have an amazing video to share with you today but before I do let me just say that I have been amazed with how many amazing people have come out in support of EFT and Merdian Tapping over the last few years.
People like Dr. Joseph Mercola, Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, Cheryl Richardson, Bruce Lipton, pretty much all of the best and brightest in the personal development world have said they support it.
As Bob Proctor says in the film The Tapping Solution "People are starting to understand themselves as an energy field. And the fact that they can work with it to get the results they want."
And these experts aren't just saying they support EFT, they're saying that they use it on a regular basis and have had results with it.
Which is why I want to share a video with you today with Jack Canfield, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books and featured expert in the hit film "The Secret" where he talks specifically about EFT.
In this video Jack reveals some really eye opening insights as to why he thinks EFT is so critical to use, especially when working with the Law of Attraction.
He also explains how he has used EFT in his own life and how he recommends you use it to get exactly what you want in life.
This video is one of a series of videos being released leading up to the 2011 Tapping World Summit.
This is a huge online event that happens once a year that is not only the biggest yearly event in the EFT community but also one of the biggest and most popular events that happens in the entire personal development world.
Over 100,000 people attended this event online in 2010 and over 81,000 people attended in 2009. And this year...they’re expecting over 200,000 people!
This is definitely not a regular event. It's 100% content and the best part is...it's free.
Attending this event is one of the most life changing things a person can do for themselves...so I hope you decide to check it out.
It starts on the 21st of February so in the meantime, I suggest watching this great video with Jack Canfield.

No More Excuses! 4 easy exercises to zap your obstacles.
Everybody faces challenges in life.
Everybody has obstacles that hold them back.
But some people overcome their obstacles and achieve greatness. For instance:
* German composer, Ludwig Van Beethoven, went deaf at a young age—yet continued composing music and became one of the most famous and influential composers of all time
* Franklin D. Roosevelt contracted polio in 1921 and was forced to use a wheelchair—yet still became the president of the United States in 1933.
* New York Yankee pitcher, Jim Abbott, was born with only one hand—yet that didn't stop him from becoming a major league baseball pitcher. In fact, he pitched a no-hitter in 1993.
So the question is: How do you overcome the obstacles in your life so you, too, can achieve your dreams?
Igor Ledochowski, one of the world's leading personal development experts, has just released a new video called "How to Break Through Obstacles That Are Holding You Back".
The best part: This exclusive video is 100% freely available.
In this new video, Igor reveals:
* How one little problem—ignored for too long—can cause your entire life to fall to pieces.
* Why you should write down the obstacles you're currently facing.
* A simple question to ask yourself to get rid of irrational fears.
* How playing out "worst-case scenarios" in your mind can actually help you break through obstacles.
* How to guarantee people will accept you and what you have to offer. (Never feel the fear of rejection again.)
* Why being "good enough" is a better goal than being "good" or "great."
* How unrealistic expectations are holding you back...and...what to do about it.
* An easy "game" that lets you bend every situation to your ultimate benefit.
This video deserves your full attention. Go to this page to watch it now while its still available!

Do you know what you can learn from a 19th-century Russian pilgrim, a para-psychologist and a character from Franny and Zooey?

How To Control Your Stress In The Workplace
Pressure situations are present during both good and bad economic times. However, when times are tough the situations can be magnified. Problems at home can directly influence issues in the workplace. It is important as a manager to recognize that your team might have outside stressors affecting their job performance. It is your job to create an environment that reduces stress and promotes engagement. In a workplace environment like this, employees will be more apt to reach their full potential and drive results. Here are 8 tips to help you and your team control stress and worry in tough situations:
1. Live in a compartment of the present. The professional with a commitment to service seals off each interaction with a customer so that negative experiences don't poison future interactions. Don't allow past successes or failures or future anticipated success or difficulties influence your current performance. When it comes to customer service, live in the moment.
2. Don't fuss about trifles. A "trifle" is something that is insignificant in comparison to other things in your life. When you focus on trifles, you lose perspective. Keep the big picture in mind. Doing so will help you objectively sort out the small stuff from the important issues.
3. Cooperate with the inevitable. Realize when your situation is inevitable. If you can learn to recognize situations where you have no control, you can gain some control over the emotional aspects of the situation. By cooperating with the outcome, you are making a conscious choice about how to respond to an inevitable situation.
4. Decide just how much anxiety a situation is worth and refuse to give it any more of your energy. Once you make this decision, it is easier to find ways you can improve on the situation or let it go and move on.
5. Create happiness for others. This principle appeals to your nobler motives. It is difficult to sustain a negative attitude when you are doing something good or helpful for someone else. Simply put: Doing good for others makes you feel better.
6. Expect ingratitude. In your job, you provide many diverse services. When you do so, you probably expect in return some signal of gratitude for your assistance. This expectation is rarely met. If you do receive heartfelt thanks from someone, you should count yourself lucky; you are dealing with a grateful person. Most people are simply not accustomed to being grateful, even when you provide them with excellent service. You shouldn't let ingratitude deter you from providing top-quality service.
7. Put enthusiasm into your work. Enthusiasm is the positive energy and sustained effort that keeps you driving toward your goals. Making a decision to have a positive outlook can be critical in enjoying your job and working with your internal and external customers.
8. Do the very best you can. It can be difficult to deal with criticism, especially if you feel it is undeserved or if it hurts your self-esteem. One way to put criticism in perspective is to ask yourself if you are doing the very best you can with what you know and are able to do. If you are, then you can avoid taking the criticism personally. If there is room for improvement in your performance, you can look at the criticism objectively and take responsibility for improving your performance.

8 Quick Tips For Building Your Networking Skills
Networking events can seem very intimidating, but they can be a resource that will help propel your career to new heights. It is always important to go into a networking event with enthusiasm and a set goal in mind. Use these ideas to help make your next networking experience a successful one.
1. Network online - According to recent research by The Institute For Corporate Productivity, 64% of business professionals network online. In today's Web 2.0 environment, you cannot afford to ignore this networking opportunity and potential leads you could generate via social networking sites.
2. Start with LinkedIn.com, the leading business networking - Membership is free, and you can pro-actively search for and connect with customers and prospects. Also, Linkedin.com users can post questions to the "Answers" section on the site. Make an effort to answer questions relevant to your area of expertise. Not only will you add value to your connections, but you will also get additional exposure and attract prospective customers who will seek you out!
3. Arrive early - Treat the event like an important appointment. By arriving early, you get comfortable in a more intimate setting with the other early arrivals. It can be intimidating to walk into a room filled with people, so go early and let the room fill up around you.
4. Show confidence - Speak confidently, decisively, and with authority. If you are confident in your conversations and support your ideas with evidence, people will take notice and respect that you know what you are talking about and that you mean business.
5. Circulate - Don't just talk to the people that you know. Get out there and go network!
6. Meet with VIPs or speakers - If there are VIPs or speakers at the event, prepare ahead of time. Do some research on the individual(s) so that you are informed when you talk with them. Compliment them on their speech or talk to them about how the topic of their speech or their field relates to what you do.
7. Stay late - When you stay late, the smaller crowd also gives you the opportunity to circulate in a more intimate setting. It also provides you with an opportunity to connect with the event's coordinator. Thank him or her for hosting the event. The event coordinator can give you some additional insight about who attended the event and who might be at the next event. It's never too early to prepare for the next event.
8. Have a robust profile on the networking site - Put in as much relevant information as you can that demonstrates the value you bring to your customers. Put in all the keywords you think prospective customers may use to search for a service provider in your field. Remember, on a social networking site, you want to make it easy for people to find you!
